Over winter break my roommate and I took a trip to Boston, MA. We both needed a vacation and we've never been there so why not. The food was wonderful but the buildings made it feel below freezing and of course the wind, rain and snow almost stopped the show. Yet once again we worked the "T" like pros, no apps needed because phones never work on the metro.
Of course I'm not a huge planner things just happen, but there was a list of things that were a must, while in Boston.
Things that didn't happen:
Duck Tour
Science Museum
Fenway Park
Bar hopping on landsdown street
Dinner by the harbor
Comedy Club
All of this is reason enough to go back.
We did a little shopping, visited the art museum and toured Harvard University. Truthfully the part part of the trip was the food.
Boston had great restaurants, serving fresh and unique dishes. Desserts/pasties are to die for and everything is just a T ride away.
Before dessert we made a stop at Bricco in Boston's historic North End. Excellent Italian food. (Not pictured).
Then here comes the museum. Of course I can't take a trip without stopping at one.
I was a trip worth taking, you get over the cold and learn the T in maybe two days tops (at least we did).
Museum of Fine Arts Boston was amazing. The best exhibit (not picture, no cameras were allowed) was Mario Testino: In Your Face. It was never before seen pictures of celebrities in colorful positions.
Each area was an adventure within its self.
U.S Airways and United got us through the snow and safely there and back.
