My last day/night being 28….

I’m not really going to waste time by reflecting on the past year. We all know there is a blessing in every lesson, reason for every season, good things fall apart so better things can start and (insert positive thought/ quote here).

I’m not a “yay it's my birthday” kind of girl but I am actually excited about 29th. Not as excited as I am about 30, Vegas anyone, but I am looking forward to it. I can’t wait to see what this new chapter of my life will bring. I don’t have any expectations, I just want to take my time and enjoy every moment of it.

Here’s to 29!

Weekly run: 2 miles

I ran a 12 minute mile! My runs are getting easier, and I’m beginning to remember why I liked running in the first place. Running a 12 minute mile this week was a huge accomplishment. I know this training season will be another great change in my life.

10k (Another week of training)

3 miles

Left N Mooreland Rd, Cross River Road, Turn left on Walsing into Mooreland landing, U-turn at the end Cul-de Sac, Right S Mooreland Rd.

Week 3!

Who would have thought that my 3 mile run would be my best run so far. This route was hilly and exhausting but something about it made it easy. The hills helped with my leg pains and once I completed my 1st mile my breathing was better than it has ever been. I ran a 13 minute mile and completed my 3 mile run in 40 minutes, which was exciting since its been a while since I ran this distance. I'm looking forward to how I progress as I enter another week and take on 4 miles in 2 weeks.

K-liners

~So I read the updated blog last night. I saw no K-liners, and nothing about me. I am upset about that. I just wanted you to know.

Just when you thought there was no more random thoughts or crazy conversations. We have new k-liner updates.

~You can speak with whomever you would like to speak with on this matter, but considering that I’m the one that’s going to have to push out a watermelon out of the size of a lemon, I think I get all the control in this.

~Yeah a lot can happen, I never even knew this much stuff could. I told the lawyer at work today that I was going to serve him an eviction notice in 60 days if he does not exit my uterus. I asked her to write it up so it looked professional. You know some new lady had the AUDACITY to ask me “sure its not 2 in there” I could punched her in her throat.

~Yeah they are. I’m getting my hair done tomorrow. I don’t know how women do this, not getting they’re hair done thing for 9 months. Looking like a sheep.

~So what are you getting me for my baby shower?
My time and attention J
I’ve had that. It’s not all that.
WHAT! You suck who ask people what they are going to get them ahead of time.
Umm I do. You should know me by now.
Well this time you aren’t getting the answer from me.
Fine then. Be that way. I’ll remember that.
It won’t matter when you get your gift. BTW I am going to be the person that doesn’t get you anything on you registry.
Of course you would be. I’m sure there will be others like you.
So go head, fix your face and your attitude to deal with it. You are going to have a few at every shower.
Ugh.

~Hey now, I am growing a human being! Right now at this moment, I have 2 hearts, 4 kidneys, 4 lungs, 4 legs and arms, 2 brains, and a small penile. I am woman! Hear me roar!!!!

The Ultimate Boy Band Tour: Got me thinking...

As I was watching E news a segment about the ultimate boy band tour came on, sorry no insync . Boys II men, 98 degrees and New Kids on the Block.

Now I was hoping new edition would be in the somewhere. Then I started thinking. Remember, when days where simple. When we didn't care about entertainers personal lives, just if they could sing. Truthfully only one of those groups included can dance. So that was not a record seller. When did we get more into their personal lives than their talent. Just think about it. I can remember being in love with Tevin Campbell, I had no idea he was gay.

Tevin Campbell - Tomorrow - Vidéo Dailymotion

Wasn't even concerned what being gay meant. Just knew that tomorrow could bring a better you and a better me. Didn't care who Mariah Carey was married to but I played that cassette tape every night before I went to bed. You couldn't tell me, I did not sing always be my baby just like or better than her.

Well, times has changed and we feed off of who wore what and to which award show. Who is pregnant by what rapper, yet still married. This is more important than good music. Don't even get me started on the fact that I watch more reality TV than scripted. Wait isn't really TV scripted anyway....just a thought.

Today's run: Week 2

Novice/Walker ~ 2 miles
Right on N Mooreland
Right on Wishart Road
Right on Wimgrow Road
Right on Bellefonte Road
Left on N Mooreland
Back to Collegiate

Not a fail but not a success either. My body wasn't feeling the 2miles run this morning, so I had to walk/run my way through it. This was hard for me to believe because I run my last 3 runs no real problems. Yet, this morning I couldn't get my breathing right, my runkeeper wouldn't work, I got a cramp in my side, my stomach muscles are still tight and my calves continue to hurt. Everything went wrong basically, but this is only the beginning I will not be defeated.

10K

 1st Mile

Right N Mooreland, Right Beliefonte, Right Santa Clara, Right Tarrytown, Left N Mooreland

I ran a really slow 1 mile, slow or not I ran the entire way. I haven't really ran in a year and I've missed. I decided run the 10k again this year and training officially started last Saturday. I am very excited to train for this RVA tradition.

I am training at a new location because I love to meet new people and run in different environments. I look forward to updating you all on my runs!! 10k here I come!!!

Remembering Boston

Over winter break my roommate and I took a trip to Boston, MA. We both needed a vacation and we've never been there so why not. The food was wonderful but the buildings made it feel below freezing and of course the wind, rain and snow almost stopped the show. Yet once again we worked the "T" like pros, no apps needed because phones never work on the metro.

Of course I'm not a huge planner things just happen, but there was a list of things that were a must, while in Boston.

Things that didn't happen:
Duck Tour
Science Museum
Fenway Park
Bar hopping on landsdown street
Dinner by the harbor
Comedy Club

All of this is reason enough to go back.

We did a little shopping, visited the art museum and toured Harvard University. Truthfully the part part of the trip was the food.

Boston had great restaurants, serving fresh and unique dishes. Desserts/pasties are to die for and everything is just a T ride away.

Before dessert we made a stop at Bricco in Boston's historic North End. Excellent Italian food. (Not pictured).

Then here comes the museum. Of course I can't take a trip without stopping at one.

I was a trip worth taking, you get over the cold and learn the T in maybe two days tops (at least we did).

Museum of Fine Arts Boston was amazing. The best exhibit (not picture, no cameras were allowed) was  Mario Testino: In Your Face. It was never before seen pictures of celebrities in colorful positions.

Each area was an adventure within its self.

U.S Airways and United got us through the snow and safely there and back.
