DC....Bethesda....Baltimore....ROAD TRIP!!!!

I may not have gone to the beach a lot this summer but I sure have been loving the DMV area. I ended the summer with an amazing trip to Bethesda Maryland. It was a good metro riding time, red lined it the whole weekend. Didn't get lost once, which is surprising for me. When we weren't trying to find a great place to eat, we were doing way too much walking at the National Zoological Park. Just know that the $2 maps are where it's at because you can get lost without them. Ended the weekend with some of that great Maryland seafood, if you are ever in Bethesda you have to check out Streamer's. Lastly, let me not forget my first casino experience ever! I don't have many pictures from the casino but you have to visit Baltimore and play the slots. It was a great summer with some wonderful company.

No Regrets: Spend time with your Grandma

Anybody that knows me know that my family is crazy! Not the normal crazy but the "oh wow is this really happening" crazy. After my grandfather died a few months ago, I made my mom a promise to spend more time with my grandma. Yes, once a week at least I spend quality time with the creator of crazy.

She just turned 75! 9 children, 13 plus grandchildren and 5 great grands and she is still fab! I realize that I have learned so much from her even from her mistakes. Though she can sometimes be overwhelming, the time I spend with her is worth it. The meals, fashion tips, yes you read it right! Even going down memory lane. I truly enjoy our time, promise or no promise.

Introducing PAUSE

In my new department, we are being taught to be more professional in meetings. Especially since my new group is in daily meetings with VPs, AVPs and Supervisors. Recently, we have learned to not stop people from talk by saying pause. Yes, love Tabitha to death because this moment was funny to me. Due to this newly learned lesson, I decided to introduce a new post to by blog called pause. All pause post will be those things, situations and conversations that I can't believed happened.  1st pause of the month is the reason Americans are so fat.

1/3 cup salsa
Chopped fresh cilantro

1. Mix chili powder, salt and pepper, sprinkle evenly over both sides of chicken
2. Spray 10-inch skillet with cooking spray. Add oil; heat over medium heat. Cook chicken in oil 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until juice is clear when center of thickest part is cut.
3. Stir in beans, corn and salsa. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 3 to 5 minutes or until vegetables are hot. Sprinkle with cilantro.

Life and Times: Another Road Trip

The last few months a lot of changes have taken place in my life. Some by force and some by choice but either way all of the changes turned out to be good. Out with the old in with the new, enjoying and appreciating the reliable. Now that I'm used to my life changes, schedule it's time to truly relax and enjoy it.  I work hard, play hard and now I need to relax just as hard. What better way to do that than a trip to the beach.

Haven't really been to the beach much this summer and I couldn't let this season go away with out putting my toes in the sand. A friend and I decided to go to Yorktown beach. Family friendly, don't have to drive around for hours looking for parking and cute restaurants.

Our first day was rained out but we didn't let that stop us. All that meant was it was time to do a little site seeing.

Colonial National Historical Park. Not really my thing but with a trolley ride and a animated story, about what really happen to make Lord Cornwallis surrender at Yorktown in Oct of 1781, I was hooked. Nothing like a good story to get your spirits up.

Once we saw all there was to see of Yorktown we headed to Newport News.

The rain stopped when the sun went down. Beautiful Night. That's all the details I'm willing to share :)

Can't leave the beach without actually going to the beach, right.

River walk landing

:) He wouldn't let me leave before I put my feet in the water.
And yes he is wearing jeans...long story, another time.

Someone doesn't like to take pictures.

New Memories....Great Times.
